UEF presents: Photonics

The photonics demo will present:

• Eyetracking: See how light and imaging is utilized for following the human gaze. Eyetracking can be used for, for example, determining human intent (behavioral studies), alertness (driver monitoring in car), and to improve performance of athletes.
• AR glasses: AR glasses are familiar from futuristic films and from gaming world. But how do they actually work? Did you know that you could build your own with a budget of only 30 €!?
• Lasers and diffraction: Laser are one of the most well know photonics components. They are used in medical surgery, fusion reactors, lidars, optical measurement devices, research and in rave parties. With diffraction gratings, you can bend laser light to your will.
• Electronics device: This device presents an example of a human-machine interaction to breach the perception gap.
