We will be sending out letters to high schools for, but personal invitations are no longer sent out. All women and non-binary people attending high school, studying advanced math and who are interested in technology as a field of work and study are free to apply for the event. Application period for the event will begin in the autumn and dates for the application period will be updated on the event's homepage as the application deadline approaches.

No, every event is available for every applicant. Everyone, regardless of geographical location, has equal chances to be chosen for the event at the university of their first choice. We will reimburse any travel expenses, regardless of the place of residence, in accordance with the travel guidelines.
In other words, people living in Helsinki don't have to apply to the event in Aalto, or those living in Eastern Finland don't have to join the event in LUT-university. You are free to apply and head on to any Shaking up Tech event anywhere in Finland.

Yes, women and non-binary people from all high school years may apply.
You can buy the tickets, but you cannot apply for the travel reimbursement for both of you.
The travel claim form is personal and you can use it to claim reimbursement only for your own expenses. The travel reimbursement form is used to claim reimbursement for journeys made by one person, and the person claiming reimbursement must be the ticket user.
If you are buying a ticket for another person, please do the following:
- Buy a ticket and send the ticket and all receipts for the purchase to the person who uses the ticket.
After the event, the person who used the ticket should fill in a reimbursement form for their own travel expenses.
The reimbursement will be paid into the account of the person who used the tickets and filled the form, who can then reimburse you for the cost of the tickets.
We will only reimburse the use of a personal car for those legs of the journey where using public transport is not an option. The reimbursement rate is based on the Finnish governments payment per Kilometer rate.
