Past events

In 2023 Aalto University and University of Oulu added a new program to the lineup, a demo session where our partners and researchers got the chance to show their new inventions and processes to the event goers.

In 2022, we got back into full swing when Shaking up Tech was once again organised as a live event at Aalto University, the University of Oulu and LUT University for the first time since 2019. 

The event was another chance to listen to great talks from tech influencers, measure the heart curve and dip cucumbers in the wrappers.

Due to the pandemic, the 2020 Shaking up Tech event moved online and was open to all high school students. The event was broadcast from the studio built in the Makers Space of Aalto University's Learning Center and the broadcast was followed all over Finland between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

More than 400 high school girls in Espoo, Lappeenranta and Tampere participated in the event on 10.10.2019. Participants came to the event from all over Finland, from Ivalo to Hanko and from Kitee to Merikarvia. A total of 13 speeches were heard at the event, 39 workshops were organised and 20 partners participated.

The first Shaking up Tech was organized at Aalto University for 200 high school students. The event was filled in 1 hour and 22 minutes after registration opened. There were 6 speakers, 18 workshops, 25 exhibition stands and 10 partners.
