Program

The event program is happening simultaneously in all participating universities. On every venue we begin the day with talks by women working in the field of technology. After lunch we head out to participate in workshops and demo showcases, and the evening will be concluded with a study fair.

Campus

Registration / Breakfast

The event day starts at the Aalto University Undergraduate Center (Otakaari 1F, Espoo), where you will be welcomed in the main lobby. Breakfast will be served to those who arrive early between 07:00 and 09:30. The event starts at 10:00 sharp, so please arrive at 09:50 at the latest.

Lunch at 11:30-12:45

During lunch, participants will have the opportunity to meet and discuss with the speakers.

Workshops at 13:00-14:30 and 14:45-16:15

3D-CAD-modeling

Topic: Mechanical engineering

In the workshop, you can get to know 3D-CAD product design in the context of creating assemblies and create photorealistic product images of your assembly (e.g. for advertising use). There is also the possibility to model individual parts.

Topic: Electronics construction and programming

What can be achieved when you creatively combine design, electronic components and an Arduino microcontroller?

Topic: Farmaceutical chemistry

In the workshop,you will familiarize with medical chemistry and make aspirin.

Brain and mind

Topic: Neuroscience and medical technology

In our workshop, you can get to know Aalto University's brain research laboratories, and also measure yourself the function of the brain, nervous system and heart.

Demo session

In 2023, Aalto University will organize a demo session at Harald Herlin Learning Center. The demo session is meant to be an alternative to the second workshop.

Study fair 16:30-19:00

Participants will have free access to exhibition stands, where they will have the opportunity to meet students from different university engineering disciplines, their guilds and various student associations. Our students are characterised by a rich and diverse student culture, which is presented through a stage programme organised by student associations. Dinner will also be served during the fair.

The event will end at 19:00. If you left your belongings at the event's storage facility, be sure to pick them up before you leave. Participants staying overnight after the event will be escorted by our event team from the fair to their hotel via the storage facility.

LUT uni

LUT is a university for curious people, where studies are geared towards a better tomorrow. We don't just train experts for a changing world - we train them to change the world.

Participants will have free access to the exhibition stands, where they will have the opportunity to meet students from different university engineering disciplines and companies that employ people in the engineering sector. Our student techs are characterised by a rich and diverse student culture, which was showcased through a stage programme organised by student unions. The event partners a number of companies whose aim is to show that young women have more than enough knowledge and skills to study and work in the sector. Technology is the industry of the future and the job market is already competing for skilled women. A dinner will also be served during the fair.

The event will end at 19:00.
