Workshop description
Subject: Brief overview of mineral foaming and green transition
We need bubbles for many purposes. Now we will demonstrate how it is used in the production of metals. Let's try to clarify how multidisciplinary the extractive industry is.
In this workshop you will learn about mineral wasting and its related phenomena. Also about the green transition and related digitalisation. You will get hands-on experience of talcum powder foaming and learn how the process works. During the practical work, you will have the opportunity to talk to researchers about their work, studies and career paths.
Practical work:
- In the workshop, students will follow the foaming process on a laboratory scale. Likely, the relevant simulation and modelling software will be demonstrated.
- Organise a small quiz on related topics.
Role models: during the workshops, students can discuss their studies, career paths and achievements with fellow researchers.
