What if yarns can shrink/expand on demand? New materials come promising unprecedented potential for innovation. However, harnessing their true potential requires acknowledging the challenges faced by their integration into real applications.

Locked Space, Moving Lace” showcases how tradition can move technology. Explore the interplay between passive and active yarns fixed to frames – unchanging and secure – and the freedom allowed by different lace patterns – room for movement and transformation.

In the display, find the story of laces sharing the same pattern-3024 initially. Framed at their borders, each piece transformed when exposed to heat – the white yarns contracted, dynamically changing the design.
