Color Perception and VR inside Your Smartphone
Workshop description
Topic: Virtual reality and color perception
Participants will learn how to create their own VR applications from scratch, centered around color perception.
This workshop begins with an introduction to color perception and how our eyes adapt to different lighting conditions. Participants will then apply what they’ve learned by experimenting with algorithms on their own smartphones, exploring how these concepts work under varying illumination. Afterward, you'll be provided with VR Cardboard headsets and guided step-by-step through creating a basic VR experience using Unity. You'll learn to code in Unity, build and transfer the APK to your phone, and calibrate VR Cardboard for optimal use. Once set up, you'll experience your own VR creation, along with additional demos we’ve prepared, all focused on exploring the fascinating world of color perception in virtual reality.
Note: Please bring your cell phone to the workshop if you want to save your work and share your VR color illusion experience with friends and family.
