Future energy solutions: batteries
Workshop description
Topic: future energy systems
In this workshop you will get to know lithium-ion battery technology, the battery materials research at Aalto, and you will assemble a lithium-ion battery.
Lithium-ion batteries play a critical role in the electrification of traffic and as energy storages for mobile electronics. Lithium-ion batteries are rapidly developing technology, and at Aalto University we conduct world-class research on materials and recycling of lithium-ion batteries. Battery materials determine the performance of batteries. The synthesis of materials requires in-depth knowledge of chemistry, while understanding of their structure requires the use of the most advanced analysis methods.
In this workshop, you will get to know about the battery materials research at Aalto University and assemble a lithium-ion battery cell for research. Join us to experience the interesting, challenging, and important work of our battery scientists!
