Participants will experiment with creating bio-based materials and designing products from them.
What if we made glitter from wood, hats from algae, and artificial leather from recycled cardboard? Renewable and wood-based raw materials can be transformed into materials with surprising properties. Our current lifestyle consumes vast amounts of limited natural resources, which makes researching and developing renewable alternatives critically important.
This workshop offers a hands-on introduction to laboratory work, material development, design, and multidisciplinary collaboration. During the workshop, you will make your own artificial leather and biodegradable glitter.
